‘Night Watch’  Photobook 2025

‘Night Watch’  is a  photobook by Yeshe McKenna that explores the intersection of dreams and
nostalgia as deeply personal yet shared experiences. The project began with McKenna 
keeping a dream diary, uncovering recurring dreams from childhood and adolescence that
carried vivid emotions, innocence, and a quiet sense of magic. These subconscious fragments 
became a way to reflect on formative memories.

Photographing close friends known since childhood, Mckenna draws on a shared history and
collective nostalgia. The resulting images function as both portraits and self reflections, capturing 
childlike wonder, half remembered places and the hazy atmosphere of dreams. Through this work
Mckenna presents nostalgia as a gentle joy and a privilege, an emotional landscape that honours 
memory, connection and the significance of what the mind reveals at rest.
